arawak Laksa, alongside Kolo Mee are inarguably most Sarawakian’s staple morning breakfast. It was even dubbed as the “breakfast of the gods” by renown chef Anthony Bourdain during his visit down to Kuching. For most Sarawakians living abroad, we inclusive, finding a good bowl of Sarawak Laksa is like a heaven-sent joy.
Aubrey’s Sarawak Local Food, one of the stalls at Hock Thai Restaurant at SS2, serves authentic Sarawakian food for those are craving or just wanting to have a taste of Sarawak.
Sarawak Laksa – RM 8.00
The Sarawak Laksa, which is only available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays tastes as close as home though a tad watered down. The Sarawak Kolo Mee on the hand, has a different noodle texture compared to the few stalls that we’ve eaten. I would not say that this is a bad thing; more towards to personal preference.
Sarawak Kolo Mee – RM 6.00 for small, RM 7.00 for big
Overall, it was a pleasant visit and we look forward to more visits here.
