irst of all, from all of us at the gastrono.my team, we would like to wish all our readers a joyous Happy New Year 2018. Albeit the lack of updates last year, we would like to thank you for still sticking around to read this post after a long hiatus. We look forward to consistently bring you more gastronomical adventures in the year 2018.
力 – Lì, the Chinese character which the shop’s name was derived from.
This week’s post is brought you from a cozy little cafe called LI, tucked within the proximity of Atria Mall in Damansara Jaya. “A contemporary Malaysian eatery” as they put it, this eatery combines staple Malaysian favourites with a contemporary western twist.
A typical Kopi Panas, Kopi Ais and Roti Bakar; contemporarised.
This would be a very typical Malaysian breakfast; coffee with toasted bread however LI brings a very interesting twist to what is already familiar.
Homemade sourdough bread paired with butter with sea salt and their sous vide kaya.
Their sourdough bread, which is baked fresh in house daily paired with their homemade sous vide kaya compliments each other very well. The crunchiness of the toasted bread on the outside yet very chewy texture on the inside which is already a winner by itself is further complimented by the kaya spread.
Scone with butter with sea salt and home made rosella jam.
Impressed with the sourdough bread, we proceeded to order another piece of scone to sample. And we weren’t disappointed, the scones were just as good with their homemade roselle jam.
